The Process
How a student becomes intern-ready.
Coursework & Readiness
Five Steps Before a Student Becomes an Intern
Every CCCA Works! intern completes this pathway. By the time we connect them to an employer, they have already done the work.
CCCA Career Exploration Class
Students meet and work with industry professionals across many different sectors. They complete hands-on projects with those professionals and learn about the real jobs and careers in each industry.
Goal Setting
Students reflect on who they are, their strengths, weaknesses, and areas for growth. They define what they want for their future selves in terms of lifestyle, then focus on a career path that matches their interests and puts them on the road to the life they want.
Career Exploration — Two Job Shadows
Students must successfully complete at least two off-campus job shadows. They are evaluated on the essential work-readiness skills employers count on every day.
Consistent Interest
Throughout the process the student needs to show consistent interest in a particular career or job — not a one-time spark, but a pattern that signals real commitment.
Work Permit Qualifications
To be considered for an internship, a student must have a 2.0 GPA or above, no significant behavior issues, and be 16 or older.

Hands-On From Day One
Two job shadows. Real worksites. Real feedback.
Before any placement, students prove their work-readiness in the field — not just the classroom.
What We Evaluate
Essential Work-Readiness Skills
During each job shadow, students are evaluated on the non-negotiables that make any internship successful.
Being on time
Proper dress
Following directions
Being engaged
Effective communication
The Handoff
Once a student is ready, we handle the rest.
When a potential intern has met all the requirements, CCCA Works! connects with an employer to develop a contract.
Interns are covered under the CCCA Works! workers’ compensation policy. We handle payroll services and support both the intern and the employer as questions or concerns come up on site.
For Employers
Advantages of Hosting a CCCA Works! Intern
Limited Contract Scope
Contracts are limited in scope and can be terminated for poor performance — no long-term lock-in.
No Liability
Employers do not take on liability for the intern. CCCA Works! is the legal employer; workers’ comp and payroll sit with us.
Try Before You Hire
Employers get to try out a future employee without going through the onboarding process or making any long-term commitments.
